America: The hope of the earth

I used to be pretty ignorant about political issues - growing up, I couldn't even tell you the difference between Republicans and Democrats. My parents were never really gung-ho for either party, which gave me the advantage of growing up without biases. I am not posting this link to persuade you one way or the other. I respect diversity in thought, but aren't inviting any of you to make this a "comment war." Yes this speech is long, but you may learn a few things if you read on and maybe you'll even find a few of your hot/cold button issues...

A Great Read...

I love this book! There is a page for each day of the year. The focus of the book is noticing the little things each day that remind us how sweet life is. We don't need to accumulate"things" to make us happy - we already have everything we need around us. I'm reading it again this year because it did so much good for me last time through.

"Mom, this is a big kid puzzle. I think I can be 4 now cause I can do it all by myself."
